Brand new project - A book written in 1 month (just over)
52Starting today 20th July 2011
I am starting an experiment. I have set myself the almost impossible task of writing a complete novel in just over a month.
I'll give a little bit of background here to try to get (and keep) people interested. I have written two novels so far and I have the unique and privileged position of being married to the owner of a Publishing House - Gingernut Books Ltd. so I am fortunate enough to be able to leave my writing until the absolute very last minute and still say that it will be ready by 31st October 2011. Here's where I put that to the test.
A little over a month ago, I was in a minor car collision where another car driver decided that he didn't want to wait until the lane that he was in was clear, he would use the lane that I was in to get past the cars that were obstructing his way forward. Needless to say, physics ruled and he could not squeeze his car into the space that my car was occupying without something giving way. I suffered whiplash injuries and he drove off without leaving his details. After going home and then to A&E, my doctor and the police, I realised that not only did I have whiplash but an existing injury that had not bothered me for a good 15 years or more had been aggravated to the point that I can no longer sit at my computer for as long as I did, bashing out the written word. My work suffered because of this which is why I'm in the position I'm in now.
I also do a little bit of editing and have taken longer on Daniel D Longdon's novel DEVASTATION than I had originally anticipated which has also put me back a long way on my own project.
Anyway, back to the point. I have planned to write the third in my Werewolf series of novels and it was thought that it would be out by this Autumn (Fall for our American cousins) but because of the series of events, I had all but given up on the project (I have already had to shelve one novel's release to my great disappointment) but I am determined to get this one - Blood... on the Moon - out on time, on schedule and on the day I had promised.
To that end, I am going to write on Hub Pages a journal of my progress (or lack thereof) and the people that have enjoyed Deadlier... and Cruel... can see that I'm not slacking, I really am doing what I promised. I gave myself a month and that means around 3,000 words per day. If I can stick to that target, then I should have time to finish, edit and perhaps even polish the novel and have it proof-read and published in time for the book launch at New Writers UK in Nottingham at the beginning of October.
Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

PS Well, once again, my Hub is in violation - not this one, the next one - so I've decided to not publish it on Hub Pages, I'll stick it on my Blog and keep you all up to date via this Hub with links to the new Blog every day. Wow, what a way to bring you back down to earth. I've had an awesome day until this... still, it's not the end of the world!
Here is the Blog on my progress.

I have the utmost faith in your ability to meet your goal, Michelle. Keep with it!
i am wanting to get in to the writing game and have found that writing quickly causes my storys to become dull and lack a novel flair Hope this doesnt happen to you the best of luck.
Im writing on hubpages because My story becoming uninteresting to me and I give up on them because its difficult to go back to them for me once they reach this point if you have the time maybe I could get some advise to take care of the problem. again best of luck on you prodject
cool hub, good luck! it will be interesting to see the progress of how you write your novel, i look forward to reading your updates
hurry up so you can edit my next one lol
Cranking out a book in a month's time is tough, but it is a fantastic exercise, and if continued can give the writer a nice arsenal of books ready to launch into the marketplace.
